Apartment Therapy’s not just for apartments any more. Their blog has run over a decade and evolved from what we remember as a focus on small-space living for your average NYC apartment-dweller to a sprawling site with glorious home tours and styling tips for abodes of all sizes.
They’ve also published several books; this month, they released , their most comprehensive book so far. Equally at home as a design reference or as a coffee-table book thanks to the gorgeous photography used throughout, they intended this book to capture “everything we’ve learned at Apartment Therapy about decorating, organizing, cleaning, and repairs, so you can make and maintain your own fabulous home” – and they’ve done an excellent job of that. (With a cloth binding, the book handily lies flat for display or for longer perusal.
This book would be of particular use to those who haven’t picked out and set up their new home just yet – the first several chapters cover the thrill of the hunt, getting the right flow, paint, floors, and windows. The second section of the book focuses on styling for specific areas like kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor spaces and entryways – ideal if you’re re-decorating or even re-modeling. The third section has a lot of helpful tips on repairs, cleaning and keeping your home generally organized. A comprehensive resources section at the end is perfect for those of us who looked at the fabulous rooms pictured in this book and absolutely *had* to have one of the wall colors, or pieces of furniture and decor, pictured.
