Every year, French charity La Source challenges artists to reinterpret an iconic furniture design. This year, they chose Charles and Ray Eames’ classic wire chair designed in 1951, and the designs will again be auctioned off. We’re used to seeing the Wire with bikini pads or sheepskin so it’s fun to see it with, say, vaguely fiber-optic neon fringe instead as in Marianne Guedin’s interpretation (image at right by Hugo Miserey).
On display Dec 12-14 at Hotel de l’Industrie, Paris – someone go see it and report back please 😉
